National Geographic Launches 2019 Travel Photo Contest

National Geographic invites photographers from around the globe to enter the 2019 National Geographic Travel Photo Contest.This year’s grand prize winner will receive ,500 (USD) and a post on National Geographic’s Travel Instagram account, @natgeotravel.

Eligible contestants can visit natgeo.com/travelphotocontest to submit photographs in any or all of these three categories: nature, cities and people. Upon submission contestants will join National Geographic’s online photo community, Your Shot. Members of the Your Shot community can comment on photos, connect with community members and photographers, and participate in photo assignments. Entry fees for the 2019 Travel Photo Contest begin at (USD) per entry for and increase per week. Entries must be in digital format and submitted electronically. There is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant. The contest ends May 3 at 12 p.m. EDT.

“The photo contest is a great way for photographers to showcase their photographic ability — from all corners of the world — and highlight the unique moments in time they capture in their own lives,” said National Geographic director of Instagram and one of the judges for this year’s contest, Josh Raab. “I look forward to seeing fresh perspectives from a large range of photographers that push the boundaries of photography.”

In addition to the grand prize winner, who will receive ,500 (USD), a first, second and third place winner will be chosen from each category, and the winning photographs will be published on the @natgeotravel Instagram feed. The first place winner will receive ,500, second place will receive ,500 and third place will receive . The overall grand prize winner will be chosen from the three category winners and will be announced in June 2019.
